血液内科是市级重点专科（2005年），拥有雄厚的技术实力和优质的服务态度，拥有40张病床设置。1名正主任医师，3名在职研究生，3名主治医师，4名主管护师。科室配备有血液病实验室细胞学检查。
该科能独立开展血液病（包括白血病）的早期诊断与联合化疗、外周血细胞形态分析、骨髓细胞学读片及骨髓活组织检查、TPE治疗血液系统自身免疫性疾病等多项业务、干细胞的提取以及移植治疗血液系统疾病（正在摸索与探讨研究之中）等等。
近几年来，血液科独立完成了两项科研成果，经国内知名专家鉴定均达到国内领先水平，均获得了孝感市政府科技进步三等奖。科内30余篇专业学术论文（包括护理论文）在中华、中国、统计源期刊、核心期刊等医学刊物上公开发表。
